SculpSure is an FDA-approved, non-invasive, body-contouring treatment. It is used to reduce fat cells on the abdomen, flanks, back, and inner and outer thighs. The laser treatment uses controlled, light-based technology to contour the body. SculpSure is similar to other fat reduction treatments which use technology to target and damage fat cells, allowing your body to naturally process them away. SculpSure uses a flat, non-suction applicator to bring the temperature of the fat up to 42°C to 47°C which is a destructive temperature, while the skin is kept safe and cool.
SculpSure is a type of lipolysis. Lipolysis is a fat-eliminating process. SculpSure uses laser technology to “melt” fat cells away. At your appointment, you will be seated in a comfortable, reclined position. The licensed practitioner will mark the treatment areas on your body. During treatment, the SculpSure device is wrapped around you like a belt. Its applicators deliver a 1060-nanometer diode laser that reaches a temperature of between 43°C and 47°C. This is hot enough to kill fat cells underneath the skin while leaving other tissues unharmed. The SculpSure device alternates between delivering a cooling effect and the heat laser. Each treatment takes about 25 minutes. During the procedure, you can relax, read, or nap. During the 12 weeks after the procedure, your body’s lymphatic system naturally flushes out the eliminated fat cells. If you need additional treatments to reach your desired results, they can be done 6-12 weeks or more after the first treatment.
Similar to other body-contouring procedures, SculpSure is not a weight-loss procedure and is best suited for people close to their ideal body weight. Experts agree that SculpSure is best for patients within 30 pounds of their ideal body weight, or those with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or less. The ideal subjects should be active and otherwise healthy, but has stubborn areas of fat that no amount of exercise or dieting seems to help.
Most patients will see results with only one treatment. However, some patients may wish to have additional treatments based on desired results. Ask your Bella Pelle consultant about the best treatment plan for you.
SculpSure can target up to 25% of fat cells in the area being treated per session, according to expert users. Results can take up to 12 weeks to reach the see the full effects. Better results may require multiple treatments, which should be spaced six to 12 weeks apart. Some patients see measurable results after three weeks, but most take six to eight weeks to see something. In addition, some patients see a satisfactory result with one treatment, but most patients require two treatments for the best result. Clinicians agree that the ultimate result will depend on how well you maintain your weight and health.
SculpSure requires little, if any, downtime and recovery entails minimal discomfort. It is recommended that patients stay well-hydrated for 24 to 36 hours after treatments. Patients are also asked to massage the treated areas three to four times a day for three days after the procedure. This minimizes the chance of any lumps or bumps. There may be mild discomfort during and after the procedure, but you can return to normal activity immediately. In addition, we recommend thst you have a 14-minute treatment with HEALITE LED-LLLT right after after your SculpSure session: this will help remove any residual discomfort and redness, and enhance the overall result
Skin tightening is not a promoted result of SculpSure, nor is it on the FDA clearances, but some doctors and patients have reported seeing some skin-tightening effects from the treatment. It can vary depending on the condition and area of the patient’s skin being treated. Skin tightening could be an added bonus for some, but it should not be expected. If patients wanted to maximize non-surgical skin tightening, having a series of radiofrequency treatments after SculpSure can have excellent results. It is thought that the heat produced by the SculpSure can have a beneficial effect regarding tightening the skin on some patients. In addition, Bella Pelle can add a 14-minute treatment with HEALITE LED-LLLT immediately after your SculpSure session: this will help remove any residual discomfort and redness, as well as optimising the results.
