An example of a patient treated only once with the PicoSure laser treatment. Compare the photo on the left which shows the baseline findings. She was treated with the zoom handpiece in spot treatment for the areas of darker pigment. Then in the same session, we used the Pico standard optic handpiece over the full area of the face in the Pico Tuning approach for gradual reduction of the pigmentation from the superficial to the deeper layers, using the PicoSure photomechanical effect. On the right, is the condition only 2 and a half weeks later showing significant improvement in the pigmentation and general skin condition, as viewed with the Mark.Vu skin analysis system, UV filter.
Traditional nanosecond lasers predominately rely on photothermal action, delivering heat to the pigment and surrounding tissue. PicoSure laser treatment takes advantage of PressureWave Technology to shatter the target ink into tiny particles that are easily eliminated by the body.

It’s true! Pico technology is the future of laser treatment. It is said to be one of the most advanced laser treatments that are currently available on the market.
You can see visible and permanent changes in fewer sessions, and it is safer and needs minimal downtime.
Pico laser is a series of 3-4 treatments spaced 2-4 weeks apart. However, it can go up to 8 weeks. That said, it is important to remember that it is best to evaluate each individual on a case-by-case basis prior to the treatment.
Some people may experience minor swelling and redness for a couple of hours after the procedure. This is in comparison to the traditional ablative laser technologies, which have a downtime of 3-4 days.
